With Invisalign, you can straighten your teeth and experience the benefits of a great smile without having to deal with a mouth full of metal! Invisalign uses a series of clear, removable aligners that straighten teeth.

Dentofacial Orthopedics

What is dentofacial orthopedics? Many patients wonder what it means when their orthodontist specializes in dentofacial orthopedics. This specialization means that your doctor has training and experience in working with the management of tooth movement (orthodontics) as well as the guidance of facial growth and development (dentofacial orthopedics), which usually occurs during childhood.

Sleep Apnea

Do you get drowsy easily without any explanation? Have you started snoring loudly or waking up breathless in the middle of the night for no reason? If you have any of these symptoms, you may have a condition known as sleep apnea. Sleep apnea affects millions of Americans and can be a serious condition. Sleep apnea can often be controlled by working with a sleep specialist. At Foley Orthodontics, we provide an orthodontic analysis of the upper airway at the initial comprehensive orthodontic exam and work closely with sleep physicians if possible sleep apnea is suspected.

TMJ/TMD Treatments

What is TMJ/TMD and why does it matter to you? Temporomandibular Disorder (TMD) is a condition where the jaw joint (temporomandibular joint or TMJ) become sore and/or movement is restricted. Millions of Americans suffer from chronic face and neck pain, recurring headaches which sometimes may accompany jaw joint pain. These can all be symptoms of a TMD condition that may require treatment.  At Foley Orthodontics, we provide an orthodontic analysis of the TMJ at the initial comprehensive orthodontic exam.  If TMD is diagnosed before/during orthodontic treatment, we will take appropriate action to help relieve your symptoms.

Surgical Orthodontics

Orthodontics is designed to reposition and straighten teeth.  Surgical orthodontics involves a type of facial surgery that enhances facial appearance, corrects severely poor bites, and straightens the teeth.  It may be needed in some cases to correct jaw irregularities, to address a patient's desire to change their facial appearance, or to improve breathing (such as in cases of severe adult obstructive sleep apnea). Surgical orthodontics are used to straighten the jaw into alignment, often improving a patient's ability to chew, speak, and sometimes even breathing. Braces are often worn in conjunction with orthodontic surgery to make sure the teeth stay in the proper position as well. Surgical orthodontics may be an option for patients who are unhappy with both their facial appearance and their smile or suffering from severe adult obstructive sleep apnea.
